Double Hemiplegia

Double Hemiplegia is used to describe children who have a weakness in all four limbs, with more involvement on one side of the body than the other. In this case, refer to the Quadriplegia for general advice regarding the care of a child with four involved limbs. The term is also applied to children who have more arm involvement than leg involvement. Double Hemiplegia's definition is vague, varies, and can be confusing. Hemiplegia, Quadriplegia, and Diplegia are more common terms to describe patterns of involvement.
